Sustainable Development Goals at NC State

UN infographic displaying all 17 SDGs.

The Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. Global Learning for All at NC State has built a commitment to the SDGs into the core of its structure to provide a unifying framework for some of its multifaceted initiatives in research, teaching and learning, co-curricular engagement, and service, and to help all members of the campus community engage in addressing the complex issues of our world. 2022-2023 Campus Programming Initiative

Beginning during the Fall 2021 Semester, NC State launched a campus programming initiative focused around the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative, implemented from Fall 2021 through Spring 2023, featured a wide array of programs each semester focused around a cluster of SDGs. The purpose of the SDG Campus Programming Initiative has been to educate students at NC State on what the SDGs are, why they are a blueprint for peace and prosperity in the world, and inspire them to take action in support of the goals on their campuses and in their local community.

Thematic Clusters 2021-2023

The initiative also featured two talks with Robert Skinner from the UN Department of Global Communications. His first talk focused on the role of the local community in the context of the Global SDG goals, and his second talk was on career development.
