This film follows nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams and education. Prize-winning authors from the girls’ home countries put their stories into words, and renowned actors give them voice. The film will then be followed by a brief group discussion.

Around the world, girls face barriers to education that boys do not, but educating girls can break cycles of poverty in just one generation. Spreading awareness through this film is intended to inform and motivate the NCSU community to make local and global changes in ending the vicious cycle of poverty.
