Partner Profile: Istanbul Technical University

Istanbul Technical University is one of the world’s oldest technical universities with a long history of nearly 250 years.

Founded in 1773 with the name “Mühendishane-i Bahr-i Hümayun” (Imperial School of Naval Engineering) during the reign of Mustafa III, Istanbul Technical University has proven to be a prominent and pioneering university with an emphasis on engineering and architecture to advance studies and knowledge in science, technology, research, and development. The university offers 39 graduate programs and 39 postgraduate and doctoral programs on five campuses, all of them located in the heart of Istanbul.

The 3+X accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program provides academic collaboration in textile engineering between Istanbul Technical University and NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles.
