Seoul National University (SNU), founded in 1946, is the first national university in modern Korean history.
The main campus of the university, called Gwanak, is located at the foot of the Gwanaksan mountain. SNU offers its students a wide variety of entertainment options in the college town of Gwanak and in the city of Seoul. SNU has a student enrollment of approximately 32,000 and more than 2,600 full-time faculty members. The university is comprised of 15 colleges, one graduate school, and 11 professional schools.
