Professor Heidi Hobbs is Director of Faculty Engagement for Global Learning for All. She is the point person for faculty to help identify ways in which they can connect to and support this initiative. She has served NC State in several global capacities, including Interim Director of NC State European Center in Prague, Director of International Programs for the College of Humanities and Social Science and the Director of the Master of International Studies. She is a recipient of the NC State’s Jackson Rigney International Service Award, the Outstanding Global Engagement Award, and a member of the Academy of Excellence in Global Engagement. She has also received two Fulbright awards.
Hobbs is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the School of Public and International Affairs and is the author of three books and numerous articles. She is a leader in her profession, having held several senior roles in the International Studies Association (ISA) and is currently the chair of the international education section of ISA.
She has a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia, as well as a graduate Certificate in Global Policy Studies from UGA. Her Ph.D. is in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
