Passport Fair

• Passport processing times are currently 4-6 weeks for routine service and 2-3 weeks for expedited service.
• If you need your passport sooner, please consider making an appointment at the Wake County Register of Deeds or at North Carolina Central University. See our Passport Resources site for a list of alternate locations where you can apply for a passport.

Passport Requirements Adults (not eligible for renewal)

If this is your first passport, or you don’t qualify for a renewal (for example, if you were a minor when you applied for your last passport). Go to travel.state.gov for more information.

• Passport Application, DS-11 (State Department Form Filler)
• Proof of Citizenship (i.e., a certified copy of birth certificate and photocopy)
• Photo ID and front and back black/white photocopy
• Passport photo (photos can be taken at the fair for $7.21)
• Execution Fee (paid at booking to confirm appointment)
• Required Passport Fee (payable by check or money order to the “U.S. Department of State”, include applicant’s full name and date of birth)

Passport Requirements for Minors

Children ages 15 and under cannot apply for a passport by themselves. Both parents must be present with photo IDs. If one parent is not present, you must also bring a completed and notarized Form DS-3053, along with a copy of the driver’s license (front and back) for each child. 
Children ages 16 and 17 should attend with one parent to show parental awareness.

Renewals (Adults ONLY)

If you are eligible for a renewal application, you can submit the Renewal online or you can submit by USPS mail, without having to visit any passport office or attend the Passport Fair. Only schedule an appointment if your previous passport expired more than five years ago and was issued more than 15 years ago or if you are otherwise ineligible for renewal by mail.

• All fees are non-refundable if the passport application is accepted for processing
• Passport photo fees are non-refundable

• The simplest parking is by credit card only at the Public Pay Lot at the intersection of Dan Allen and Cates Ave:
