Committees

Council on Global Engagement (CGE)

Council on Global Engagement (CGE) members are appointed by their respective deans/unit leaders and include both faculty and professional staff with decision-making authority for international initiatives and programs. Examples include education abroad, on-campus programs with a global emphasis, support for incoming international students/scholars and international research, extension and/or capacity sharing projects. 

CGE members meet regularly throughout the academic year and represent their units in the following efforts:

  • Offer expert advice on campus collaborations for international education and research.
  • Identify common challenges to global work and develop solutions that meet the needs of our campus community.
  • Provide recommendations that increase global learning capacity and administrative efficiencies across campus.
  • Provide feedback on university policies and business processes related to global engagement.
  • Share effective practices in program development, management and travel safety.
  • Facilitate communications and coordination with home colleges/units.
  • Participate in the selection process for NC State global honors and awards.
