Baden-Württemberg / North Carolina Faculty Mobility Program

The Baden-Württemberg / North Carolina exchange program (BW/NC Program) is a multilateral cooperation between the nine universities in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg and the 15 public universities in the state of North Carolina in the USA. The program aims at facilitating the exchange of both students and researchers.

In view of the successful cooperation between the German federated state of Baden-Württemberg and the state of North Carolina, it is intended to place more focus on the collaboration between researchers. For the year 2025, the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg will therefore give out grants for travel expenses for short research stays, which are intended to help establish new collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships.

Researchers from the nine research universities in Baden-Württemberg and the participating universities in North Carolina who are interested in establishing closer cooperations with partners in the other state and who want to be actively involved in the BW/NC program can apply for these grants.

Funding period and funding amount

For short-term stays of at least one week at one of the participating universities in North Carolina or Baden-Württemberg in the year 2025, a one-time fixed rate of EUR 1,200 will be granted.
