Committees
NC State Global is advised by committees whose members consist of faculty and administrators from all of NC State’s Colleges and other key departments.
Campus-wide Collaboration
The Committee on International Programs and International Operations Council work hand-in-hand with NC State Global to advise and implement university-wide internationalization policies, regulations and programs. Together, the committees provide leadership and coordination to implement NC State’s global strategic plan.
Committee on International Programs
The Committee on International Programs (CIP) is an official University Standing Committee with membership appointed by the Chancellor. Faculty from each of NC State’s colleges meet monthly and are responsible for advising the Vice Provost for NC State Global on policy and regulation. Members serve as key contacts for each college to provide a two-way flow of communication between International Affairs and faculty across the university. CIP coordinates the annual Jackson Rigney International Service Award and the Internationalization Seed Grant program. Learn more.
“NC State Global’s role is to initiate and create some of the opportunities, play a supporting role, but in the end these goals or objectives… can’t be achieved unless the faculty step up and do the work.”
— Dr. Rudolph Seracino, Committee on International Programs Chair (2015-2016)
International Operations Council
The International Operations Council (IOC) is coordinated directly through the Office of Global Engagement and membership consists of college or unit leaders who are appointed by their Deans. Members lead program development and implementation of NC State’s international strategic plan for their respective colleges and units. IOC is a key avenue to ensuring that global perspectives are integrated into all aspects of NC State’s teaching, research, extension and engagement. IOC coordinates the annual Outstanding Global Engagement Award and reviews strategic initiative grant proposals, such as the UGPN Research Collaboration Fund.
