“International Education Week is an opportunity for us to showcase and strengthen our commitment to thinking and doing globally.”

NC State Global is celebrating its 25th annual International Education Week (IEW) Nov. 17-21, 2025.

At NC State, this week’s events demonstrate our dedication to global learning and celebrate the value of international education and exchange. Through NC State’s global programs, students can broaden their worldviews, strengthen their cultural awareness and build skills that are vital for leadership and career success.

IEW kicks off with opportunities to connect through global food traditions. Join the Filipino Meal hosted by the Filipino American Student Association and NC State Dining to enjoy Filipino cuisine and learn about Filipino heritage. Then there’s Global Tea & Coffee, a relaxed gathering where guests can sample beverages and snacks from around the world and learn about their cultural significance.

Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to share photos and stories that capture their global learning experiences as a part of the Pack In Focus: Global Edition photography contest. Top submissions will be featured across NC State Global’s platforms during the university’s International Education Week celebrations, with first place winning a prize bag.

The week also features immersive educational and experiential events for students, faculty and advisors. Students can attend Student Study Abroad 101 to explore program options and gain advice from past participants. NC State advising staff can stop by the Global Courtyard and meet the Study Abroad advising team at the Study Abroad Academic Advisor Meet ‘n Greet to share ideas and strengthen partnerships that help our students make the most of international opportunities.

Research connections and faculty-led study abroad programs at the NC State European Center in Prague will be highlighted during the Prague Lightning Talks and Faculty Round Table. The university will also celebrate the opening of Wisława Szymborska: 30 Years After the Nobel Prize, a digital exposition honoring the late Polish poet. The event will feature remarks from the Embassy of Poland and a conversation with Michal Rusinek, president of the Wisława Szymborska Foundation and Szymborska’s former secretary.

Looking for a study break? Join Food, Fun and GeoGuessr, hosted by the Global  Ambassadors and SKEMA Business School, or attend the Global Film Series: Babylon Berlin screening. All of these events offer ways to engage with other cultures, expand knowledge of world history and build new connections here on NC State’s campus.  International Education Week also aligns with the annual release of the U.S. State Department’s Open Doors Report, the only comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars in the United States and U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit. The data for the 2024-25 academic year will be released on Nov. 17.

“NC State is dedicated to offering transformative global learning experiences that empower our students, faculty and staff to bring new perspectives to their studies, teaching and research,” said Amy Conger, Vice Provost for Global Engagement. “International Education Week is an opportunity for us to showcase and strengthen our commitment to thinking and doing globally.”
