NC State goes to Surrey to participate in the UGPN Annual Conference
From May 13-15, the annual University Global Partner Network (UPGN) conference brought together universities from across the world to showcase our commitment to sustainability, share best practices, and connect academic colleagues to collaborate and foster impact and innovation globally.
UPGN is a global platform for academics and students from Universidade de São Paolo, North Carolina State University, and the University of Surrey, to work together to address sustainability challenges across diverse global regions and communities.
This year’s conference drew delegates from the three UPGN member universities, as well as representatives from the University of Freiburg. The theme of the conference was “Securing a Sustainable Society: new approaches and inclusive practices.”
Delegates participated in research presentations, funding and COIL workshops and exploratory faculty sessions and had the opportunity to share new ideas and analyze new approaches to research topics.
Delegates also developed frameworks for Research Collaborative Funding, a collaborative seed funding opportunity between member universities designed to foster bi- and trilateral research cooperation amongst faculty.
