Dr. Ondřej Pešout’s passion and interests meet in the niche of educational research. His main area of research focuses on designing interventions that promote children’s self-regulated learning (SRL) and metacognition. His research examined the use of metacognitive and SRL skills in elementary schools and college settings, spanning the domains of reading comprehension, mathematics, natural & social science, and creativity. He graduated from Charles University in Prague in 2012 with a degree in Psychology. He continued his education at North Carolina State University, earning a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in 2017. Ondrej teaches Educational Psychology and Child Development courses at Jan Evangelista Purkyne University and works on the National Institute of Mental Health research programs.
