New Fund to Assist Faculty and Staff Travel
International Affairs is launching an annual Faculty International Travel Assistance Fund to further encourage and support faculty international engagement in teaching, research, conference and other outreach activities. Faculty and staff can request up to $1,000 to use towards international travel that relates to scholarly activities that align with NC State’s strategic plan.
Ten awards of up to $1,000 each will be awarded to faculty and staff based on evaluation of the importance, need and potential impact. The supplemental fund will defray costs associated with existing travel plans for academic purposes including, but not limited to, international teaching, research, conference participation or other partnership activities. The fund is available to faculty and staff in all disciplines. Department head (or equivalent) approval is required. The deadline to apply for 2016 travel funds is Monday, February 29th.
Application Process:
- Complete the Faculty International Travel Assistance Fund Form and obtain department head or equivalent supervisor signature.
- Attach any supporting documentation (letter of support, conference invitation, travel justification, etc) and combine as a single PDF document with the application form.
- Email materials as a single PDF document to international-affairs@ncsu.edu by Feb. 29th.
