Raleigh Sister Cities Exhibit “Voices from our Sisters” Coming to Campus
The NC State community will soon get a chance to learn about residents from around the world through a unique exhibit coming to Talley Student Union as part of International Education Month.
The “Voices from our Sisters” exhibit will bring visitors face to face with their counterparts through interviews, photographs and artifacts in Raleigh’s five sister cities: Kingston Upon Hull, England; Compiegne, France; Rostock, Germany; Xiangyang, China and Nairobi, Kenya.
Raleigh Sister Cities (RSC) seeks to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Raleigh and its Sister Cities. RSC is a cooperating member of Sister Cities International, whose mission is “to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.”
A discussion featuring representatives from the RSC committee is planned for November 13 from noon-1pm in Talley Student Union Room 3221. During the discussion, faculty and students can learn more about the academic connections between the cities.
