Remembering International Education Month

NC State celebrated global learning and engagement during the month of November with a fun series of events for International Education Month.

International Education Month promotes programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences. For this year’s International Education Month, NC State Global hosted a series of exciting and informative events celebrating global connections.

Below are a few highlights of NC State International Education Month 2023.

  • As part of our Global Film Series, we screened the documentary Dear Sirs. The film follows American Mark Pedri as he follows along the same route his grandfather took as prisoner of war during World War II.
  • In a partnership with SKEMA, we hosted a fun night of Geoguessr Trivia. Several teams of students competed in rounds of Global Trivia to win a fun prize.
  • We held a virtual event about the German-American Business Connection with representatives from KION Group and Siemens Energy Inc. Speakers Christian Loew of KION Group and Harshad Bhide of Siemens Energy Inc. spoke with students about their experiences working for global companies.
  • The Changing Faces of Antarctica: A Work in Progress event covered how Antarctica is evolving and how people are playing a more active role in the science and the governance of Antarctica. The talk was led by William Muntean, Former Senior Advisor for Antarctica, Office of Ocean and Polar Affairs, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, U.S. Department of State.
