NC State Global Welcomes New Employees
Two of NC State Global’s sub-units, the Study Abroad Office and the Global Training Initiative (GTI), have recently hired new staff members.
New Additions to The Study Abroad Office
The Study Abroad Office has welcomed four new employees to their team. Ashton Croft, Robin Stewards and Lindsay Hughes recently joined the Study Abroad Office as new study abroad advisors. Odiee Anazleh also joined the team as program associate.
Meet Ashton Croft
Ashton Croft (she/her/hers) graduated with an M.A. in higher education from Elon University and holds two bachelor degrees in history and political science from Texas Christian University. Prior to joining NC State, Ashton served as the graduate apprentice in the Moseley Campus Center and graduated as an intern in the Global Education Center at Elon University. Ashton is originally from the Houston, Texas area and studied abroad in London at the University of Roehampton during her undergraduate career. She is excited to help NC State students explore study abroad options and help them meet their own goals within global education. Ashton will be advising the College of Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for the regions of Scandinavia, Latin America and Africa.
Meet Robin Stewart
Robin Stewart (she/her/hers) holds a M.Ed. in higher education leadership from the Citadel Military College and a bachelor’s degree in management and information systems from Tulane University. Prior to joining the Pack, Robin worked in the Center for Academic Performance and Persistence at the College of Charleston. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina Robin has studied abroad as an undergraduate in Poland through the Department of Jewish Studies and participated in short-term programs in El Salvador and Puerto Rico. Robin also completed a summer study abroad program as a graduate student in the United Kingdom. She is excited to help NC State students meet their degree requirements through our incredible global programs. Robin will be advising students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the College of Education. Her regions are the United Kingdom, Ireland and Central Europe.
Meet Lindsay Hughes
Lindsay Hughes (she/her/hers) holds two bachelor’s degrees from Florida State University in Media and Communication Studies and Spanish Language. Prior to joining the Pack, Lindsay worked as a study abroad advisor at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Lindsay studied abroad in London on a faculty-led program and then worked as a program assistant at Florida State University’s London satellite campus after graduating. Although she is a little biased towards London, she is looking forward to working with students to find the best study abroad program for them. Lindsay will advise students from the College of Engineering, the College of Design and the College of Natural Resources. Her regions are Australia and Asia.
Meet Odiee Anazleh
Odiee Anazleh (he/him/his) received his B.A. in Political Science from NC State University. Odiee has been a part of the pack for the past seven years. He previously worked in the NC State Advising Corps as a aollege advisor in North Pitt High School in Greenville, North Carolina. Odiee’s educational work experience further includes time as a 6th grade lead science teacher in Houston, Texas and as a career coach for World Canvas, an empowering international youth organization. Odiee views education as the most important factor in anyone’s career path. As the new program associate he looks forward to providing support to the office staff and assisting students on their study abroad.
The Global Training Initiative Welcomes New Program Specialist
GTI has recently hired an international programs specialist supporting various GTI programs.
Meet Chanelle McArthur
Chanelle joined the GTI in late 2021. Prior to joining the GTI, she worked in the financial services sector as a project manager and data analyst. Chanelle holds a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (2021) and earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Science, Technology and Society (STS) from NC State University in 2017.
Prior to transferring to NC State, Chanelle was enrolled at Wake Technical Community College where she participated in an online experience with NASA via the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars program (NCAS) and was selected to participate in a four-day engineering design workshop at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. While at MSFC, she participated and placed 3rd in a team robotics competition.
Throughout her time as an undergraduate at NC State she worked as a researcher in Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, both contributing as a team member as well as designing several projects on her own. During her senior year, Chanelle was awarded a scholarship from the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program. This scholarship would be the formal beginning of her passion for international education. While studying in China at Zhejiang University’s Yuquan Campus in the Summer of 2017, she undertook courses in energy geographies, international relations and about the Mandarin language.
