North Carolina Summit on United States/China Education
September 6, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Join us for the 6th Biennial North Carolina Summit on United States/China Education. Our 2018 theme is “Community Focused Partnerships: Harnessing Intercultural Competence.”
The tremendous growth of Chinese language and cultural understanding in North Carolina over the past decade has contributed to real, tangible gains for the state’s economy. This year’s North Carolina Summit on US/China Education will showcase representatives from the education, government, and business sectors that demonstrate the importance of global education and public policies that set the conditions for these important relationships to thrive.
This event is recommended for North Carolina K-12 and university educators as well as business, community, and policy leaders who have an interest in the benefits of Chinese language and cultural education on North Carolina’s economy.
The organizers of this event include Go Global NC (part of the UNC System), Confucius Institute at NC State University, Public Schools of North Carolina (State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction), and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. We will update this event post with speakers and panelists as they are confirmed, but expect a day focused on multiple real-world examples of how global education is creating opportunities for North Carolinians across the state.
The event is free, including a catered lunch. Our only request of you is to commit to showing up and joining us for the full program from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. if you register and claim one of our limited seats. If you have registered and later learn you cannot attend, please email Nicholas Rau, Go Global NC’s Director of Education and Training, at narau@northcarolina.edu.
