Meet the Global Ambassadors: Halle Michalak

Halle is a senior majoring in business administration and a 2019-2020 Global Ambassador.

Where are you from?

I’m from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Have you ever traveled abroad? If so, where?

I’ve been to Germany and surrounding European countries.

In your opinion, what is the best way for students to engage globally at NC State?

Attending internationally focused events and meeting international students! Starting conversations and listening to international perspectives is a great way to learn about other cultures while making international students feel welcome at NC State.

Besides being a Global Ambassador, are you involved with any student organizations, work opportunities or volunteering that have a strong international focus?

I am a student worker at the Office of Global Engagement’s Intensive English Program and a PackAbroad Ambassador.

Why is global learning important to you?

Global learning is important to me because it promotes understanding and acceptance of different cultures and world views which encourages diversity and inclusivity on our campus and within the greater community.
