Travel the World at Packapalooza

This year’s Packapalooza is set for August 24, and the Office of Global Engagement is sponsoring the International Zone during the all-day street festival.

NC State attracts students, faculty, and staff from every part of the world. In the International Zone, attendees have the opportunity to learn about the different cultures that make up the university’s global community.

We invite everyone to visit the International Zone if you’re interested in:

  • Playing traditional games from around the world
  • Trying on traditional clothing from another country
  • Getting a henna tattoo
  • Winning a prize in the World Geography Challenge
  • Learning how to belly dance
  • Practicing calligraphy in other languages

and much more.

Throughout the day, the Cultural Performance Showcase will feature talented NC State students sharing music and dance from around the world.

Don’t miss the Parade of Flags at 2:45 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff will carry flags representing their home countries in a parade down Hillsborough Street accompanied by NC State’s Pipes and Drums band during an impressive display of the university’s cultural diversity. The parade begins in the International Zone on Founders Drive.
